painting!

here's an other art for all of you. these days I am thinking to move to painting again but before than there must be some practice session. so I have taken a sketch book to make some sketches and paintings with a pencil, poster colors or water colors.

today's art is just made up by few poster colors. I painted the sun set first and then the tree. be careful about making some thing on a painted background otherwise your all effort went to smoke. :)

If you are not sure to paint directly would be fine than I suggest you to draw a very light (almost invisible) sketch so that your drawing would be exactly as you want to make.

I did two different color contrast in a single picture and saved both by camera. 

Take a look! and try to make your own master piece.

 Sketching is an art where you draw a rough sketch and then keep adding its details in it. As much good observer you are, as good in making the exact picture.This time I've learned a trick as well.To identify your mistake in sketch, just make a picture of your sketch and then look on it you would easily find where you draw a wrong line.:) plus always start with light soft lines so that you can erase it.

The most simplest and interesting one! all you need different colored papers,glue and crape paper. Can be use for spring season.

Draw the flower shape you want to make and cut them.cut circles for the center of the flower.Use a bright color for the base or background.Paste flowers and leaves.Use crape paper for branches.

hold the flower in your hand and push petals inward.It gives the flower a 3D look.

different kind of flowers

This year, I have decided to learn different kind of flowers and till now these are the flowers.I had started with ribbon flowers and now check them out my cupboard have a dozen of flowers. Isn't amazing!.I had used colored papers,ribbons, wrappers of chocolates,glaze papers,crape paper glitter sheets and recycle items.

 today I am going to share a glaze paper flower which is the simplest one.

Material:

1. glaze paper( any color you like to use)
2. tape
3. seizor
4. glue( optional for fixing

that's it!

how to make it?

cut stripes of different length.3,3,2,1 (3 of same length, 3 more of another length,2 of same length and then 1 of most shortest length.

now pick one of the stripe,twist it in a way that it gives a shape of a pyramid :) triangle.do this to both side of the strip and paste tape or glue there.repeat this step with all the strips except last one.The last one you just need to make a ring shape of it.it is the shortest one and you just take both ends of the strip and paste a  tape on its back.

start fixing the flower with same length and keep pasting them one by one.repeat this step till the last one and its ready.( the above one I attached with stapler) 

You can use it as bow, gift decoration.

home made photo frames (art & science exhibition 3)

hi! everyone, we are going back to our art and science exhibition once again as there are many things still remaining to share with you. :) Today I am sharing some of the photo frames made by my students. I believe that in art, sometimes you learn from your students. I definitely appreciate my students here from grade one to grade seventh. All did very well and made amazing crafts.

Every student has its own material to make a photo frame. most of them use cardboard for it. remaining items are on their ability :P

some used rhinestones, other used artificial flowers. fabric flowers from their dresses means everyone used to make their frames interesting with the material they have.I also recommend my students to try to make things which are easily available to you.There is no need to copy all the stuff you find here or anywhere. Just get an idea and then use your own skill.

starting with the first black one is make by me :) ( its polystyrene(known as thermal sheet),black poster colors and some glitter sheets cuttings pasted on it. 

2nd one is mad

e up by cardboard and artificial pearls on it.

3rd one is made up by T-shirt case .ribbons and stickers are pasted on it.

hence children used their own creative skills.

artificial flowers anything which they can use for decorations. The did well and I personally enjoyed their work.

homemade flower bouquet!

Its spring here and we have completed our first academic year of school. We have decided to make a flower bouquet by ourselves for the director. It was really amazing idea as nothing is better than something you make yourself. Me and my colleague made it. There isn't a large material list. you just need variety of flowers, transparent tape and a plastic sheet.
yes a ribbon is also the part of it.I believe my nail polish also increased its charm :) :) :).
Flower bouquets are quite expensive and mostly you need them whenever you are going to welcome, greet or gift something to someone.
I always believe that if you can reduce your expense in your daily routine. its not a bad idea! what you say?
To make a bouquet easily you can hold one flower with a long stem and tape with it different flowers one by one.
try it and if you make something like that share it with us.

Paper flowers are easy to make and cheaper than others. They look beautiful and attractive as well.we had already made it and you can find it in my previous post. There you can easily learn how to make paper flower. here I made this one with a little variation

what you need for this art work.

MATERIALS:

1. colored papers
2. seizors
3. stapler
4. glue 
5. tape

Its much simple :> than its look.you just need to learn how we can make these flowers and you can easily make variation. The central flower is the old one which I had made in previous post.

This time I just took three different color papers

staple them and joint them with the help of tape as I wanted to finish it fast. It was mid night. you can stick it with glue to give the fan a proper shape.I stick it with tape to the door. The reason of this is that your door will not become dirty, if you remove it so tape is the best option

That was the flower I had made in last post and just pasted a circle in the center and thats it. Check it out last post to learn the flower and you can make many things with the same art.once you learn it you can use your own ability to make your own art creation!

art & science exhibition part 2

Hi everyone, I had shared some of the models for art & and science exhibition. if you missed that one check them out on my blog.I guess there were plenty of ideas you could use for any such kind of activity at your school.In my last post I told you how we make these models ( so I really don't like repeat it).what I like to tell is that you can make things with very simple and easily available material.

ok ok...for a quick review here these are models are made by polystyrene (thermal sheet), colored papers, glue,news paper and tissues. (quite simple isn't it)

Check out this simple science project.we had painted the polystyrene sheet with poster colors and paste a cramped news paper ( gives it a rough round shape) with German glue(I definitely write about it but if you don't have it,you can use simple glue).pasted it and let it dry. after it we paste tissue papers on it ( make little squares of tissues and put each one on newspaper and give it a cord of glue.it becomes wet completely.cover the whole newspaper with it.

we used a plastic ball for the moon.

The next one is more simplest than this one.

you need:

1. polystyrene sheet
2. a box of milk
3. colored paper.
4. toy cars
5. glue
6. seizors
7. tooth picks
8. tape.

you can paint the polystyrene sheet if you like.there we had shortage of time and we skip the part.plus there is a funny thing is that if you look it more carefully some cars are turning wrongly. one visitor asked to the students that your model is showing how to do an accident and she replied, " my model is showing those roads which don't have a traffic signal :) :)

very clever reply :) actually she forgot to place signals as well. but overall its a good attempt. 

A HEART MODEL:

simplest one.placed a red paper on polystyrene sheet.

1. make the shape of heart with news paper and wrap it with glaze paper (red) make veins with blue and thats it>:)
2. label it and place them with the help of tooth pick and tape.
3. use another sheet for some notes pasting.

That was my first exhibition and I had enjoyed it a lot.today I am here to share some of the ideas which definitely help you in arranging your art & science exhibition at school.It is a tough task especially when you have to indulge children into work and their work and their abilities and time requirement to complete the task is different than it would take much time than you do it yourself.I am the luckiest one as my students are always so obedient and participating in my each and every activity. It is hard for the teacher to involve all the students but now I know the skill how to involve them with little effort.For me the most difficult thing is that I had involved much students and became tired at the end of the day.(some personal feelings :))

These models had taken around a month to complete. I had worked with grade 3rd to 7th for the models and for photo frames I had given chances to grade 1 to 7th to create your master piece.Now you could easily imagine how much work load would be but at the end when we had arranged our school exhibition. it was superb!

Our first week passed in arranging the raw material.Most of them have same materials.

• polystyrene sheets.
• germen glue or white glue
• colored papers
• glease paper
• seizors
• tooth picks 
• poster paints
• brushes
• news papers
• tissues.

well, these were the basic items.remaining a few were according to model demand. I would like to share all the models with you.The next few post will be about different models and art works which we had done at exhibition.

Before staring lets know few things about polystyrene sheet.

There are many names of this sheet and it really make me confused when I am sharing here so I decided to search a little before sharing it ( here we call it thermal sheet :) I really don't know why we use many names for the same thing:P.as many names confuse you.)

You can easily find it from any craft shop. The good thing about polystyrene sheet is that you can cut it to any required shape of the model.

HOW TO CUT IT??

1. take a pencil to draw the shape.
2. don't put your weight or hand pressure on it as it can easily break
3. once you draw the lines or shape on it.go to the kitchen and take a straight knife. heat it a little bit and start cutting.
4. it cut like a cake (yummy yummy) and in between if you feel that knife is not cutting smoothly, it means, you should repeat the heating of knife.

The best would be to do cutting in kitchen as it needs heated knife a little again and again.If you not heat it and cut it . your whole model don't look neat.

Note : don't use bond on this sheet as bond start eating it. it happened to me when  I was making a notice word . if you it I will tell you the trick how to use it but just keep in mind don't put bond directly on the polystyrene sheet.

now look at the simplest model.draw on the sheet ,cut it with a little hot knife and than stand it with the help of tooth picks.it make your both hands free for painting.

we used here three colors to get a light brick color.firstly red than white and at the end brown.

It is a historal pass and we try to make it the same as it is today.we made road with black and white and silver around the road. we made bushes with colored paper.you can use formic sheet as well.

place a tooth pick at its back (bush) and paste it with a tape. that's it.tooth picks are easy to make things stand on polystyrene sheet.check out the few models and check out how easily you can make them with simple materials.
